Traveling Truths

It's interesting how work can bring people together who may not have crossed paths otherwise. In a work setting, we often have to interact with individuals who we may not necessarily choose to spend time with outside of work. However, through these interactions, we can learn from different perspectives and experiences, and build meaningful relationships, or walk away and never acknowledge their existence again. It's a reminder of the diversity and beauty of humanity, and how we can all come together in a shared space to support and learn from one another.

Once we took the leap and started traveling full time, we realized that those fears we had were unfounded. We found a community of like-minded individuals on the road, and our interactions with them were anything but lonely. We also discovered the beauty and simplicity of living in a van or camper down by the river 😂,and how it allowed us to truly appreciate each day and take things at a slower pace. Overall, our full-time travel experience has taught us to let go of societal expectations and embrace a more fulfilling and unconventional lifestyle.

However, I also realized that society's expectations and norms can have a negative impact on our mental health. It can make us feel pressure to conform and meet certain standards, causing stress and anxiety. Therefore, it is important to listen to our own inner voice and follow the path that feels right for us, rather than blindly following society’s expectations. Ultimately, we are the ones who know what truly works for us, and it is important to prioritize our own well-being and happiness above society's expectations.

As a parent, it is natural to want to protect and support our children at all times. However, it is important to remember that our role is to guide and teach them, not to take on their burdens and solve all of their problems. While it may be difficult to be away from our loved ones during important moments in their lives, it is also important to focus on living our own story and allowing our children to learn and grow through their own experiences. Ultimately, this will make them stronger and more capable individuals in the long run. This has been one of the hardest things to do as a parent.

This chapter of our lives has been both challenging and exhilarating, teaching us the value of letting go and embracing change. Through it all, we have found peace and blessings from God that are beyond words. Exploring and learning about this beautiful world has been a great joy, and we have cherished the freedom and friendships of people from all corners of the globe. Witnessing the different ways in which people survive and thrive has been truly amazing, and the incredible spectrum of diversity has opened our eyes to new perspectives and cultures.

I cherish the moments when I get to engage in conversations with the people around me, whether it's my neighbors or the store clerks. One time, I walked into a beautiful establishment and asked if they had a public restroom. I was surprised to learn that due to a fire in Denali, the electricity and water supplies had been cut off. The store clerk found the situation amusing and told me that they usually just go behind the row of buildings where there is a line of trees, but if I preferred a proper restroom, there was a port-a-potty half a mile up the road. In the end, I decided to just use the restroom in our camper. It's interesting to see how some people find joy in simple things like sitting and watching the water, and it reminds me to appreciate the little things in life.

Following this way of life may bring you a sense of fulfillment and even a closer connection to your spiritual beliefs. However, the idea that moving to a different location will automatically bring happiness is not entirely true. True happiness and fulfillment come from within and are not dependent on external factors such as where we live. While moving may bring temporary changes, ultimately it is our mindset and inner growth that lead to lasting happiness.
