Museum of the North @ University of Alaska
Anyone who knows me knows just how much I appreciate and love museums, I was ecstatic when Jerry surprised me with a day to myself in a magnificent museum. However, the experience turned out to be an emotional roller coaster. My emotions went from tears to excitement to fear and confusion as I explored the museum's many exhibits. I was only able to spend three hours there, but it was enough to drain me emotionally. I was unable to watch all the videos and that was disappointing, but it was because I was so overwhelmed by the history and beauty of the museum.

I actually saw a sign encouraging you to touch this enormous rock that turned out to be a jade boulder. And this was just out in the hall!! There were so many years of history that I can only cover a small amount.
I watched this light show go through the years that showed how many people attempted to climb Denali and how many people actually succeeded and the paths that they took.
It is also my understanding that there is the Magic Bus somewhere on campus that they are responsible for restoring to its original form, before some of the public have destroyed it by taking off pieces as memorabilia for their own selfish gain.
Kathleen Eloisa "Kitty" Rockwell, who was also known as Klondike Kate, or the Belle of the Yukon, was an American vaudeville singer and dancer who made her name and fortune during the Klondike Gold Rush on the saloon stages of Dawson, in the Yukon, Canada, during the Klondike Gold Rush and tamed these men. Later in her life, Rockwell settled in central Oregon, living in Bend for many years before she died in Sweet Home, where she spent her final years of her life. They also made a movie about her in 1943.
This event, known as the Japanese American internment, was a dark chapter in our nation's history. Despite being American citizens, these individuals were forced to leave their homes and belongings behind and were subjected to harsh living conditions in remote and desolate areas. This unjust and discriminatory treatment towards innocent people is a reminder of the dangers of prejudice and the importance of protecting the rights and freedoms of all individuals. It is a part of our past that should never be forgotten, and serves as a powerful lesson for the future.
It's incredible to think about how much we have learned about our past through the study of animals and their remains. From ancient civilizations crafting beautiful jewelry out of bones to modern-day scientific discoveries, our understanding of the natural world continues to grow and amaze. It's a testament to the human curiosity and determination to explore and understand the world around us.
They also have a room that was equipped with advanced audio technology that emitted a variety of frequencies from the sounds of the universe that were said to have healing properties. People can come in and simply sit, allowing the sounds to wash over them and promote relaxation and well-being. Many claim to have experienced a sense of calm and rejuvenation after spending time in this room.
This poem was posted outside the room
It is truly a gift to be able to witness the wonders of the world through the artifacts and exhibits in this museum. It reminds us of the importance of preserving our planet and the need for continued exploration and discovery. We must continue to safeguard and appreciate our planet and all it has to offer for future generations.
